Megan Severance

Biography

I'm a reader. A writer. A sister, a cousin, a friend. I love playing pretend, both outside and in, and doing crafts in my room. I'm also a royal princess: a redeemed daughter of the King who rules Heaven and Earth. My prayer is that the whole world will hear the Good News of His love!

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I started writing when I was six. My first short story was a re-working of the Aesop's Fable, The Crow and the Peacocks. I am a very wordy person and I've always loved writing.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I was at the Reagan Library, which is fifteen minutes away from my house, with my good friend Branson. In the library there is a section about the Cold War and Reagan's part in stopping it. The designers of the display have done a fantastic job, and in one corner is a life-sized model of the Berlin Wall. You can even tunnel under it! So on this day, I was imagining myself making a daring escape from East Germany. I said dreamily, "This would make such a good game of pretend!" (And it did: I've played it many times since!) Branson replied, "It would make a really good book, or a movie!" And, DING, I knew I had to write a book about the Berlin Wall. Thanks, Bran, for being my inspiration!
