Melanie Lamaga earned a BS in Photography from University of Maryland at Baltimore County, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work has appeared in The Pearl, The Tusculum Review, Fiction International and Zahir. Her first book, a collection of magical realist and weird short fiction, The Evolution of Reptilian Handbags and Other Stories, was published by Metaphysical Circus Press in 2014.
