Melanie R. Snapp

Biography

Melanie Snapp was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1947 and resided in various parts of Ohio, ranging from the hills and hollows of Bainbridge and Chillicothe in her earlier years, to the Ashland area in the 1960’s, and Perrysville in the 1970’s.

In the mid-70’s in the state of Washington, she raised and trained Arabian horses and had a large dairy goat farm. She also raised show Bantams for about 12 years, attending poultry shows nationwide. Having developed a national champion winning strain, she retired from the shows with countless championship awards.

In her spare time, Melanie enjoys working in her art studio creating on canvas with oils and acrylic media. She won “Best of Show” her first time entering an art show, with an oil painting of an old covered bridge (shown on the front cover). Her last project was a 46-foot wall mural of farm scenes from the late 1800’s into the early 1900’s, spanning the four seasons from left to right, which will be the background for an old model steam train.
