Meriwether Shipley is an actor, model, producer and director of stage and screen, and is now enjoying success as the author of a seven volume set of books entitled Cassandra and the GI P.I - A Dupont Circle Mystery.
This history/mystery/romance talks place on Dupoint Circle in Washington, D.C. in the turbulent year of 1969.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing for newspapers in the 1980's. I was a feature writer and columnist. Under my byline Auntie Bellum, I wrote stories and histories of old houses in Southern Virginia
What's the story behind your latest book?
I have written a series of seven books entitled Cassandra and the GI P.I.- A Dupont Circle Mystery. This is the story of a hippie named Cassandra who falls in love with a shell-shocked Korean War vet named Harry, who is sixteen years older than she is. She sees the world through his eyes and gets recruited into his battle against this debilitating mental condition.
But not all terrors are internal. They discover that they are being stalked by a killer and it takes the skills of a GI P.I. to find this person and remove the threat.
A young woman sees life through the eyes of a shell shocked Korean War vet who works as a P.I.. She immerses her life in his to help him cope with his internal terrors, and gets swept into his investigation of an external force who seems intent upon killing him.
A young woman sees the world through the eyes of a shell-shocked veteran. She joins his fight against this debilitating disease and gives him insight into a deadly sniper who is after his life and sanity.
