Merle Scholtz
After spending many years designing children’ clothing, Merle Scholtz joined her husband, Anton Scholtz in running a computer company, concentrating on computers in education. They subsequently launched their design company, Baobab, where they worked together from the 1990s to the present, specialising in graphic design and later, font design. Merle had enjoyed writing and illustrating books for her granddaughters, and, when asked by fellow granny, Catherine Dubbeld, to collaborate in a book for their shared grandson’s birthday, jumped at the chance of doing illustrations and layout. This has led to a second collaboration, Grandma needs her coffee, available on Smashwords. Look out for more books from this team of grandparents!
