Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your latest book?
The book Deal Death is actually based on the poem Deal Death I wrote first as a song which led to the book. All the characters where real people in my life while living Texas inspiring me in different ways. Of course I changed there real names. Being a cowboy at heart I placed them in a historically acrurate western setting of 1852 adding my brand of fiction and fantasy based on some facts.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I had submitted my work to several publishers, but like many authors, rejection is a way of life. I had at this point had several letters published in the Dallas Morning News, Lancaster News, Bonita Springs News and sold one article to Bowling Magazine. While living in Chelsea, Michigan I was listening to Public Radio. Mark Coker the founder of Smaswords was giving an interview. I was impressed with what he had to say and here I am.
