Michael Andre McPherson

I've been a construction worker and a science student, earning a B.Sc. with a major in physics along the way. I don't really know why. I went to Afghanistan in 1988, way before it was fashionable and before the Taliban. I endured ten years as a camera assistant in film and television, but all I really have to show for it is my name in the credits of Dracula 2000--look for B-camera Second Assistant if you must. All great experience for a writer.

A century of war with the rippers--the vampires--has brought civilization to its knees. Chicago is a walled city ruled by an intractable pope, manufacturing is non-existent, and ammunition is running desperately short. The Pope sends Alex Fitzallan--already a veteran of a major battle by his nineteenth birthday--on an impossible mission to St. John's Keep, far north of Chicago.

Great plotting and character development. This story effortlessly drew me in and carried me through to its conclusion. I felt like I was on the station. The characters repelled and fascinated me, and the resolution totally fit. Great Read.
