Michael J Wormald writes mainly historical fictional and make no apology for making it light and humorous. Through research done himself he is able to produce long, intricate and imaginative stories based on historic events

His historical character, the incorrigible rogue Falstaff Wild, is set in Asia on the eve of War in Europe was conceived as a way to explore little-known facts of about Japan's occupation of China.

The Author is well-travelled visiting Asia including Thailand and Japan many times.

Influences come from the days he'd be searching in second-hand book shops for H.P. Lovercraft, Robert Howard and other pulp Science Fiction and fantasy writers

What's the story behind your latest book?
Falstaff Wild is a rogue, and it shows. Falstaff is incorrigible, ex-RAF mercenary pilot and scoundrel with an evil temper. The Call of the Thunder Dragon is full of surprising locations, historical facts and details, other colorful characters. Set during WW2 in Asia and the Pacific. It is the eve of war in Europe, but Falstaff has unfinished business with a princess, the Japanese Army and loot still to find in the east. The incorrigible Falstaff is down but not out. His eye for the ladies and the chance for a quick buck have got him trouble again.
What are you working on next?
I am working hard on completing the Second Volume of Falstaff Wild's mis-adventures, 'The Orange Dragon of Old Hanoi', in actual fact this is the first adventure I started to serialize some years ago.
