Michelle Freson

Originally from South Africa, I am incredibly fortunate to have grown up in a country of colourful diversity and culture. The people, the bush and the weather and indescribable and Africa beats like a heart in her people, wherever we make go.
I'm currently living in Mauritius, where I'm surrounded by azure blue seas, palm trees and my family.

I'm an avid readers of many genres, including mysteries, thrillers and historical novels. In fact, I'll read anything, but fantasy has always been my first love.

Smashwords Interview

What motivated you to become an indie author?
Indie authors and readers are some of the most passionate people I have come across. Their loyalty is fierce and while they will offer advice and support where they can, they are very quick to jump on a fellow author who produces sloppy, lazy work. It's a badge of honour to be an Indie author - they work incredibly hard to write, market and sell their books.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Writing and reading are similar in that you can get lost in a world of fiction. Reading of course is far easier because someone else has done all the hard work, but writing is wonderful because you can create exactly the characters and world that you like.
There are times when I have smashed my head on the keyboard... repeatedly and thought I would never get the sentence or paragraph right, but when you read your own work, and actually like it, that's a joyful moment.
