  • The best laid plans: journeying around Western Canada on July 11, 2011

This book is highly recommended for those with a sense of humour as well as the absurd - and it doesn't hurt either if you have a fascination with obscure West Canadian wildlife and words less often used. This is an entertaining and thoughtful book by a writer who not only shows he has a true joy of life but a joy of words as well. It is a well written book, full of funny anecdotes which relate the good as well as the bad of a fabulous trip.It offers good advice for the traveller with Canada in their sights and for those with a sense of adventure. Plans which go awry sometimes do provide the most memorable highlights and amusing tales from a holiday, and Chris Jones captures this very well. Wry insights add to the pleasure of the book.
