Part storyteller, part game show host, part DJ, and part madcap tour guide, award-winning author R. Scott Murphy offers the "Fun Stories" series of amusing books, audiobooks and CDs to help lighten your day. Murphy holds a master's degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He's been a TV and radio personality, written commercials, produced major sporting events & TV game shows, taught at the University of Texas, and won the Remi Award for script writing in the film industry. A four-time winner of the "Late Show with David Letterman" Top 10 List Contest, Murphy's humorous attitudes, anecdotes, and musings take random to new levels in the "Fun Stories" series. Murphy invites reader/listener participation through his interactive storytelling game called Mental Kickball. Throughout the series, Murphy poses questions, conducts polls, and welcomes feedback on his www.mentalkickball.com website and his Mental Kickball social media sites. An indie author that is a commuter himself, Murphy hands out "Clown Commuter Awards," conducts crazy countdowns, invites people to "Ferris Bueller Time," and calls himself "The Freakin' Michael Phelps of Googling." Readers are invited to enjoy the written books and then hear them come to life as Murphy offers his entertaining interpretations of them on audiobook and CD. The "Fun Stories" series serves up a wide variety of comical tales related to the everyday work world and reaches out to the 140 million US commuters looking to break the monotony of their daily commute. Murphy champions commuters and uses the supercool 800-pound gorilla logo for Mental Kickball as a symbol of the collective power of Commuter Nation.
