Mike'a debut mystery Novel, The Rogue River Incident, sprung from an idea while watching the X-Files and Ancient Aliens on the tele. He intertwines his love of Native American culture, a passion for the Pacific Northwest, primarily his birth state of Oregon, and fascination with the mysterious events taking place in the X-Files and Ancient Aliens. Mike sat down one day and started writing. The characters and story came to life as he wrote.
"Every session was as if I were reading something new myself for the first time. It is a blast to see what happens. I worked hard at taking thoughts I have had over the years watching Ancient Aliens and the X-Files, as well as my love of Native American culture and the Pacific Northwest. Molding these ideas together in a novel was more fun than I ever imagined."
Mike learned photography as a freshman in high school and later took the passion and used it as a photographer in the United States Air Force. Besides his hiking and bicycling passion, Mike has a penchant for capturing the outdoors, via photos, on his smartphone, which he often shares on Social Media. Often he breaks out his high-end Canon DSLR and “gets serious” with his photos, as he likes to say. Mike loves to ride his bicycles and float his SUP, looking forward to Friday afternoons, and the weekends, where he can hit the High Lakes trail for a ride, then Lake of the Woods for some paddleboarding and finally visit one of the 151 wineries in Southern Oregon, often doing all three in the same day. Mike is working on his next yarn, Hidden Beneath the Pines --- a dark, whodunit mystery dealing with unexpected deaths and the chaos that ensues around murder, abduction, childhood abuse and a family that wants to wish it all away. This novel, like the first two, takes place in and around Southern Oregon. As time permits, which seems to never be enough, Mike continues to market his paranormal mystery duology, The Rogue River Incident, Case XI.
