I am a 52 year old divorced mother of a 3 grown children but I raised 6 children. I am the eldest of 4 children, I have a brother (Faried) and 2 sisters (Elma & Ruth). I live at home with my daughter and 5 of my 8 grand-children. I live in Westbury, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1 of the toughest areas. Life was hard but we made it through.
I love telling stories and even though I have always seen myself as a nobody, it always made me feel good when people would crowd around me to hear the stories that I have made up. It is amazing how they would become completely still when it was story time and I am always intrigued at how I manage to keep them captivated for the entire duration of the story as they would hang on to my every word. It was something I discovered at a very early age as the teachers would ask me to tell stories to the class if they have to leave the room for a few minutes so that's where it all began. Making up stories comes easily to me, something I seem to have passed on to my daughter.
I am sure that my stories will captivate the minds of the little ones as writing gives me great pleasure and after all as a granny of 8 it captivates my little ones and they really enjoy listening to my stories.
