    i found the Big Red Chair a poignant story of a chair that belonged mainly to grandpa, but was used by other members of the family. Told not as if the chair was actually telling the story, but as the main character, it reveals happy memories of a time that could have been traumatic, the illness and death of a beloved grandpa. Although this is the personal story of Afi (grandpa) and his family, it would be a good jumping off point for anyone facing the illness and eventual death of a loved one for anyone with small children in the family, to remember the good times with the bad.
