Biography

We are Lisa and Keira, the girls behind Model Hideout. For over 10 years we worked in the modelling industry within Australia and overseas and whilst working as models within the industry we felt there was a huge gap in information for aspiring or current models. Learning from our experience we created Model Hideout which is dedicated to everyone at any age that is curious about the modeling industry or wants to learn more about the art of modeling. Having worked for various designers throughout Australia and free-lanced for approximately 10 years, we felt there was an abundance of information missing about how to break into the industry.

Combining our differing personalities we came together to produce the inspiration behind Model Hideout with a sense of professionalism, fun and approach-ability that personifies our unique characteristics. Whether you aspire to the lofty heights of international supermodel stardom or would love to experience a photo shoot for a day, Model Hideout has all the information required to help you feel confident about yourself and to become the best model you can be

What's the story behind your latest book?

This book has been a long time in the works. We actually decided to bring the book and Model Hideout together on a trip overseas quite a few years ago. We had penned the book but it sat unpublished for some time.
However the book is available for all aspiring models and even parents of younger girls and boys interested in the modelling industry but do not have any understanding on the industry. We want to details all the behind the scenes aspects to the industry and show an honest and open account into what it takes to become a model.

What is your writing process?

We both draw from our experiences working within the modelling industry and start by brainstorming a particular topic we would like to write about. Then we both go our separate ways and literally put pen to paper to see what comes out.
Both of us are a little 'old school' in the way we initially write in that we love penning our stories with old fashioned pen and paper before refining it on the computer.
It's funny when we both confessed to each other that our initial writing style was using pen and paper but we feel it helps our creativity by just flowing out onto the page.
