Douglas James, Jr

I became insane, with long periods of horrible sanity.

In 1962, when he was just five years old, Doug's parents took him to see his uncle's band open for Loretta Lynn. This concert (and the subsequent trip backstage to meet Ms. Lynn) set off a life-long fascination with guitars. Three years later, he got a guitar of his very own. Now, 40-odd years (REALLY odd!) and a laundry list of unknown bands later, he's still fascinated with playing guitars. Doug's musical style incorporates elements of jazz, rock, blues, funk and country that's been described as "mean and raw as a pissed off grizzly one second, smooth and sophisticated as a debutante the next."

Wow. Avoid this one. A sad attempt at noir that just manages to sound like pompous twaddle, I only managed to get 70 pages in before searching for something written by someone with talent.
