About the Author
As a young man growing up in the French part of the West African country of Cameroon, Patrice Mouehla had an uncanny intellectual curiosity. He took an early interest in poetry writing and philosophy. While in High school, he read and analyzed the works of almost every great philosopher, from Henry Bergson, Camus, Karl Marx, Descartes, Engel, Jean-Paul Sartre, Sigmund Freud, Kant to Nietzsche … As the President of the school paper, he published award winning poetry and philosophical pieces. He was known as the master of philosophical debates. In 1990 a short-story he wrote about the atrocities of Apartheid in South Africa won the Radio France International Prize. The combination of all those philosophical doctrines, and the teachings of a selfless and God-fearing mother helped shape his world view. Patrice’s mother was a woman of unshakable faith who for many decades worked as a social worker in Cameroon, a country with heartbreaking social inequalities. For many years, he witnessed her suppress her needs to satisfy those of others. She always reminded him that happiness was not about how much money you made rather about how much joy you could spread with the money you make.
As Patrice went on to further his education in Germany, first at the RWTH in Aachen than at the University of Hoheheim in Stuttgart, he was confronted by a cruel world where racism was the norm; his philosophy of looking at the glass half-full rather than half-empty helped him prevail and made that experience just another learning phase in his life; more lessons designed to mature him. He moved to the USA 20 years ago. His early job as a fashion consultant for the rich and powerful at Bergdorf Goodman in NY and later as the Executive VP for the luxury Italian tailoring House Duca Sartoria gave him a very intimate look and perspective into the lives of the rich and famous. That, coupled with his mother’s teachings and his mastery of philosophy gave way to an exhaustive analysis of life in Hollywood, life of fame and material possessions as a whole in a spiritual context. He sought to explain the miseries and unhappiness in that environment, despite all the fame and money. Patrice is the President of THE MOUEHLA GROUP which comprises HOT BRANDS WORLDWIDE, an international marketing and PR agency and the Founder of A BETTER US PRODUCTIONS, a TV production company with the slogan: making the world a better place, one reality TV show at a time. The purpose of the company is to join forces with like-minded networks such as OWN, the OPRAH NETWORK to create powerfully entertaining reality TV with a positive, lasting impact on humanity. He has a unique gift for words and languages. He is fluent in French, English, German and Bassa. The Pomona, NY resident also has an unusual God-given people skill and truly believes that given his life trajectory, motivating and inspiring others is his ultimate calling. Therefore the release of these powerful pages of life wisdom that he dedicates to his late Mother and Father, his beautiful wife Khuraira, and his four boys Yannick, Jamil, Kamil and Hanif.
