Ashley Danielle

Hey guys, welcome to my world! Not sure what brought you over here, but I’m glad you decided to drop by! First let me introduce myself, I am Ashley Danielle, I was born in raised in a little city in Florida called Cocoa. It’s near Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral, I’m one of those rare species who is a true Floridian. I’m a mother of an eight-year-old daughter and I recently just became an aunt. I’m the youngest of three girls, so I have a problem with always getting my way. Doesn’t work too well as an adult, but it was awesome as a child lol. My mom had a love of reading when I was growing up and would always try to get me and my sisters to read during the summer. I didn’t catch the reading bug until my junior year of high school. I fell in love with romance novels, my favorite authors around that time was Brenda Jackson, Celeste O. Norfleet, Melanie Schuster, and Gwynne Forster. Back then I fancied myself a poet, I wrote more poetry than anything else.
I wrote my first short story when I was in the first grade. I don’t remember the title, but I know it was about a frog lol. I typed up the words, illustrated the pictures myself, and the school created the covered. I believe my parents still have it and if I can find it Ill post it on here for you guys to see. The pictures are horrible, lol I can write but drawing is not my forte. I continued writing poems and short stories here and there. At one time, I started putting together a book of poems. It was before my doctor was born and I saved the poems on a floppy disk. Yes, a floppy disk, lol and I have no clue what ever happened to that floppy disk.
Then one day my mom told me to read a book called Prince of Wolves by Quinn Loftis. Thus, started my addiction to fantasy and paranormal books. I have over 700 books on my kindle, and I have read all of them give or take a few that’s in a series that I decided not to finish. I love everything about paranormal and fantasy books. The suspense, the magic, secret societies, the romance, but the one thing I didn’t like is the wishy washy of the female characters. In many the books, I read I found the female characters to all be down and out, emotions all over the place, insecure, and depressed. Wanting something different is when I decided to write my first book, The new Awakening. As a woman, I understand our emotions are all over the place and we are some of the most indecisive creatures God mad, but we do made decisions and stick with them. So, I made my female characters strong, but still soft with all the idiosyncrasies that makes us women.
Well that’s the story of my life, hope you enjoyed the information. I’ll be updating periodically as things change. Thank you for stepping by and have a blessed day!

Smashwords Interview

How do you approach cover design?
I tell my designer what the book is about and I let me come up with a concept. If his concept mirrors mine, I let him proceed. If not then I tell him what I see and we work from there.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I don't really have favorite books, I have favorite series that I can reread multiple times and it's like I'm reading them for the first time.
1. Grey Wolves Series by Quinn Loftis: I love the interaction between the characters.
2: Hot Damned Series by Robyn Peterman: I love Astrid and the comedy the characters bring to each book. I laugh through the whole series.
3. Stage Dive Series by Keylie Scott: The boys and their spouses are just adorable, but my favorite book in that series is Lead. I love Jimmy! He's sweet and his unawareness of it makes it even funnier.
4. A couple of different series by Amanda M. Lee: i love the characters and how they are family oriented.
