Patrena Miller

Biography

Patrena is a author and a writer. She has written poetry since she was very young and a talented artist. She began writing novels in 2008 and began publishing her work in later years. Challenging herself to create something that others would read; she hoped to reach those who normally would not give a book another look.

In her own words:

My goal is to change the mindset of the non-readers one novel at a time; also giving the avid reader something to look forward to. I believe that I have accomplished that goal. Thank you for reading my creative work.

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I wrote was The Road. It came at a time when I was searching for something to do, to build, to create. I started out just writing down words and phrases. I slowly put it all together. I could see it as a movie while I wrote it and I added little by little until I felt that I had accomplished what it took to create written fiction.
What is your writing process?
I like to write in first and third voice. It is more personal with first voice and narrative in third voice. I take pride in building my characters and giving them life without becoming them. At times it drains me to write a very sensitive character - such as one in depression. I've never been depressed so it takes time to study and learn behaviors, etc...
