Smashwords Interview

How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords provides a user-friendly platform to upload my book to multiple services, including the Apple store, Barnes and Noble and others. All of the sales and other information is funneled through to my Smashwords Dashboard, which means I only need to check one site for information rather then multiple. That convenience means I can focus more time on my marketing efforts and writing my next book. As an author, my passion is writing, not publishing, and Smashwords makes publishing easier and more convenient. One of the core reasons I choose Smashwords is the non-exclusive clause in the Terms and Conditions, leaving me free to publish to other services. I highly recommend Smashwords to any author looking to get published.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I really enjoy immersing myself in another world and seeing that world through the varying perspectives of my characters. I can make my own reality, my own world that is different and unique than a world that another author has created. Or I can write fan fiction and write about an existing world and universe that I really enjoyed reading or watching. That flexibility, the freedom to write about whatever I want is what I really enjoy about writing. I also like seeing my characters develop and mature throughout my stories; comparing and contrasting their perspective and outlook on life at the end of a book to the beginning is very interesting.
