I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this story, as I knew that it was inspired by Japanese folklore and I'm not really into that. But the book quickly grabbed my interest, I think because it was about the search for someone who may or may not even exist, and my mystery-loving mind had to follow that and watch for clues. :) It's interesting, well-written and has twists, and if the occasional Japanese words worried me at first, their meaning quickly became obvious from context. If I, a person who knows little to nothing about things Asian, found this book really enjoyable, then a person with a knowledge of its setting would find it even more so.
