Smashwords Interview

What are your five favorite books, and why?
The reading I love so much is Saint-Exupery's "The Little Prince". It's so inspirational for me, and everytime I read it again, I find out a new meaning. Actually, I used a famous scene from it on "¡Yo tengo la magia!". I love José saramago's for his intense narrative. I also like Mario Vargas Llosa for his intimacy and fluency (and because Piura is one of his topics). Dan Brown is also great, because I'm a The X-Files fan, an my top author is Ricardo Palma - I think there's a lot of his influence in my writting style. You know, some sarcasm is always welcome.
What do you read for pleasure?
To be honest, I read eberything it come to my desk. I enjoy novels, especially those where you can't predict how characters are going to evolve. Rómulo Gallegos' "Doña Bárbara" or "Mario Vargas Llosa's "Los cachorros" are good examples for me. Speaking about non-fiction, my favorite ones are regarding History, Geography, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. Because I'm an editor, I have to read many thinngs, and learn new concepts, especially if I'm going to report them on radio. You have to simplify all that hard information to your audience catch it just when they listen to it.
