Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. It influenced me because I got to see the way people live their lives, whether if it was in poverty, or wealth and use it to my advantage. It helps because you get to write from all different perspectives, and when you talk to these people, it tends to stick with you. You hear all of the gossip and you turn around, only to hear more gossip. All of this, mixed with actual creative influence makes for some good reads. As long as you can manage it, creativity can go a long way.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing in 2010 or so. My first real poem was one called "That Tree Looks Like Pauly Shore". The whole point of the poem was actually a class assignment for community college. We had to take something that someone said, and make it into a poem. It was probably my alltime favorite assignment for school. The fact that you can expand on an idea like that really made it worth while. It allowed you to tap into the part of your creative mind that you never tap into.
