Award-winning Author/Novelist, scriptwriter, playwright; music composer, producer and singer. Born in Peru, living in the Netherlands from 1982. Graduated as Psychologist at the Catholic University in Santiago, Chile; MA studies on international politics at Universidad de Chile and PhD studies on Pedagogy at Leiden University, Netherlands. Mother of 4 sons, has travelled for her work in Latin America and Europe. Her father was African American her mother Peruvian, speaks 6 languages.

What is your writing process?
People around and nature inspire me. I make notes when I have experiences that hit me. Sometimes reality goes farther than imagination. I have met many children/teenagers and their parents for my work. They told me their stories which are reflected in my books. I listen to music when writing and I make music that could serve as background for the readers.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Peru. My dad was African american. I married and lived in Ecuador and Chile. From 1982 I live in the Netherlands. My family is spread around Latin America, United States and Europe. All these countries and cultures have deeply influenced my writing.
