Dwight Ian Martinez

I live in California. I got here in 2006 as an immigrant from the Philippines. To make use of time, I try to read a short article of random interest everyday and take classes in community college. Originally, the plan was to become a Registered nurse and along the way, while taking requisite classes to get in the program I took a Vocational nursing program as heeded advice from my dad. I passed the exam and while I waited for my license, I took an English class and got inspired to try expressing creativity in some way. After some thought, I decided to try putting my all in creating a least one story. In my attempt to follow my own lead, I bumped into talks about a twilight movie. As a fan of monster movies and paranormal stuff, my expectations told me that not many things could go wrong, at least to my standards, with these types of stories -- I had no idea what I was in for. I wouldn't want to say it was wrong but I was horrified and outraged by what I saw. It was very hard to let go of how vampires and glittering skin just don't mix together very well for me. But despite of being slightly agitated, I saw a new species of vampire and this creation was a commendable feat from its author. It inspired me think about creating my own monsters, and I decided to do so. I like thinking I'm capable of doing something that's never been done before, and I've always had faith in being creative. Among the things I've always wanted to create were horror stories and I want my work to reflect my best effort in conveying my understanding of scary things. I hope to entertain my readers with my first serious attempt at leaving them with something to think and talk about.
