Olwen Parker

I was fascinated by the early Saxon history of England and in particular by a family which ruled in Northumbria in the 7th century. Who did what, when, where and why has been my formula. What was not written about by the monks is my own proverbial red rag and sets my imagination going.

When I'm not writing and imagining, I'm reading or doing my family tree. Among my ancestors (and their relatives) I've found a Chelsea pensioner, two convicts, Nottingham lace makers, Nottingham framework knitters and a policeman who wore a top hat!
