PA Smith, a small business entrepreneur with a network of talented associates, graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor's degree in Journalism. Her first “real” job was as copywriter at a major Atlanta-based commercial printer. Her only experience working for an international American corporation came next, with almost five years spent as a Training & Installation Specialist with CompuGraphic Corporation, where she specialized in teaching experienced typesetters how to use that newfangled computer to get their job done. It was during this experience that Patti Smith learned the art of typography and graphic design.
Over the years, Patti Smith has brokered printing; taught at professional training facilities when the desktop computer was in its infancy; taught computerized graphic design and general office software at a number of colleges and universities in South Florida; led a seminar series on the art of typography; created customized documents and templates for office use; written freelance articles for various publications; and, created a very successful business in South Florida that published neighborhood news magazines called the Viewpoint.
It was her experience publishing and editing the Viewpoint that led to an opportunity to edit a book for one of her many readers. A new author had a great idea for a new book but needed help getting his ideas on paper. That project led to a friendship and business relationship that continues to this day.
