Escape your own reality. That's what books do for me. I live with my partner and two youngest children in a country village in Northern Ireland. It's really quite idyllic. When I'm not writing and running a household, I am a therapist, listening to, and helping clients deal with, their inner issues. I love my job as much as I love writing.
What is your writing process?
I first write out my characters. Names, ages, descriptions. I decide the main character and add qualities. I then draft a rough plot. I write a beginning and an end. These are very important. The scenes then follow. Writing the scenes and printing them out means I know what I am writing about each time I sit in front of my computer. It makes writing faster a lot easier.
How do you approach cover design?
As this was my first published piece, I honestly did not have a clue what I was doing. I chose a designer from the list in Smashwords. Looking through the profiles and portfolios', I got a feel for who I wanted. You learn from your mistakes. I bought an image that was far too small and was told so.
