Smashwords Interview

What do you read for pleasure?
Cookbooks. I have a love affair with food and enjoy cooking. It’s alchemy, inspiration, and creativity. Some cookbook authors provide a wonderful history about food and how cooking became a passion for them. Some of the best cookbooks are part memoir and part recipes. It entertains the geeky part of me.

I also love to read jazz biographies. On stage, jazz artists have a cool and sometimes business-like persona. Their biographies reveal the artist’s creative process, emotional highs and lows, drama with other artists, and secrets the music industry dare not repeat. They are a lot of fun to read.
Do you write full time or part time? How do you structure your day?
I’m a part-time freelance writer. My niche is spirituality, so I focus on numerology, Law of Attraction, chakra healing, and other related topics. For my own writing, it is slowly becoming full-time. Each day is different. I currently make a to-do list for the next day and plan what I want to write. I prefer to wake up early, around 5AM, work through my writing goals, and be done before 1PM.
