Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born in Oklahoma but raised in the upper Rocky Mountain region. My father was in the oil field business and we moved frequently. It definitely had an influence on my writing since I devoured every book I could get my hands on from a very early age. Books were my friends and we didn't have to move and leave them or make new friends when we got to a new home. The library always had the same books by the same authors no matter where we lived!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My love for God! He is the only inspiration I need and I look to Him for guidance throughout the day.

This is my story. I was held hostage for 36 hours, 36 petrified hours filled with rape, beating, fear, and no sleep. 36 terror-filled hours, knowing JD was ready to kill me to keep from going back to prison. 36 hours being brutalized, knowing that my daughter was barricaded in a room upstairs. I was beaten to the point of wishing for death, but what would he do to my daughter once I was dead?
