Patrinia Johnson was born in Newark, Ohio but moved to Oklahoma City Oklahoma when she was 12 years old and still currently resides there. Patrinia earned her Associates Degree in Paralegal studies from Oklahoma Junior College in 1992 and is currently earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts for Creative Writing degree from Full Sail University.
Patrinia was a contributing writer on the Transmedia game We Are On The Case based off the stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes and she is currently working on a dystopian YA/NA novel series called Aislyn’s War. She also has several story ideas in other genres such as a Crime/Murder drama movie script and a Sci-fi drama for a television show.
Patrinia began writing as a teenager when one summer day she took out her notebook paper and wrote out an entire horror movie screenplay by hand. She was later with her mother at a yard sale where she saw a typewriter and begged her mother to buy it for her so she could continue her writing.
What inspired you to first put pen to paper?
As a teenager, I was obsessed with horror movies and thought, "Hey, I can do that too." So I took out a notebook and wrote out an entire screenplay. Throughout my years, I have wrote poetry, horror and crime dramas. Then I discovered the world of Doctor Who and Young Adult novels and felt reborn.
When your not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am always watching television shows or movies that inspire new ideas for my writing, but I do this while I am writing most of the time. While I know a lot of writer's use music to inspire them while they write, I have to have one of my shows on to keep me feeling that high while I am writing.
