Paul G Rao
Paul G Rao, is just a dude that fell in love with writing. A high school science teacher since the turn of the millennium. His stories come from an odd crossroads: the meeting of a love for the art of storytelling, being a world-class liar, and an avid learner of all things science. Many people in his circle of friends and family will say he loves the sound of his own voice, that is true. They may also say be careful when asking for his advice. The response will be colorful, humorous, straight forward, and harsh. That is also true.
Writing started as more of a therapy than anything else in the beginning. Then, little by little, he began to craft several stories with the help of other teachers. What they all realized is that creating a story is easy when it is fun. Many breaks and happy-hours were spent discussing books, movies, and stories. New stories were always a favorite topic. Some of the group have a flair for editing, others the desire to write. A few have even taken motivation from these sessions and have written or begun writing novels of their own.
Paul believes that the arts are so very important to the urban students he teaches. Many students find talents they never knew they possessed in the arts, as did he. Those with low self-esteem rise to be the star of a musical. Those with no outlet for emotion draw and paint with passion. Those that fumble with speech can deliver a flawless soliloquy. Those that struggle with the pain of a hard life find relief in the creation of poetry and prose. They have inspired him, and he hopes to return the favor. He hopes you get as much enjoyment reading his works as he had creating them.
