Paul Hughes is from Manchester, UK. He has been writing for most of his life in some capacity but decided to take his writing more seriously in his twenties when he realised a normal job wasn't for him. So he spent a lot of time honing the craft and trying to decide what kind of genre he wanted to write in, experimenting with lots of different things until he decided to just write whatever he wanted to write and whatever was the most fun to do. Despite not feeling cut out for a normal job, he has had plenty of them in the past, from soul destroying call centres to community work, supermarkets to office clerk and everything else in between. He has done it all. And it has made for some interesting character inspiration over the years. Nowadays, he divides his time between family life and writing crime and speculative fiction - anything he fancies, really - that he will soon be unleashing unto the world. He is the author of the supernatural-coming of age-thriller, Daniel and The Dead and the forthcoming Hardboiled Private Investigator series set in his home city. He lives in Manchester, UK with his partner and baby son.

Daniel and The Dead
by Paul Hughes
So what's it like to go on the run with a dead guy? I'll tell you, if you're prepared for the tale. Believe me, it's not good. It's much worse than that. I wasn't prepared for Billy or any of it. I wasn't prepared to join him six feet under. My world was turned upside down one winter night and everything changed right at that moment when the blade glimmered in the dead light. This is my story....
