Paul Shore

Biography

Paul Shore is a technology industry veteran and award-winning author who has worked around the globe. His drive to embrace new challenges has seen Paul involved in a variety of pursuits. After the software startup he was with in France was acquired by computer chip maker Broadcom in 1999, Paul returned to Vancouver and led the company’s voice-over-internet group for years. Marrying a talent for business with a passion for sport and community, Shore pursued a role in the world of sports and spent an inspiring, and at times physically risky, few years working for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He has also regularly dedicated energy to volunteerism, while living in Whistler with his wife and children and exploring the mountains and ocean of the coast.

Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your latest book?
The year I spent living and working in a small town in the South of France was so quirky and so impactful on me that I decide to write a humorous memoir about it.

Having smoke repeatedly blown in my face didn't deter this foreigner from breaking into French culture. I hope the story entertains and inspires, as I tell the tale of how I gained acceptance inside a famous charming village in Provence.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I had always wanted to write and I am quite technically savvy, so after meeting with a publishing world advisor, I decided that I had the experience required to self-publish successfully. Today's online tools and services, like Smashwords, make becoming a successful indie author much more possible than it was only a few years ago.
