Fun, engrossing read. The author states "The real answer will surprise you". It truly does. What's more, the author was able to create a number of rich and interesting set of characters, a detailed past and a world with so many possibilities in just a few pages. I want more:-)

If you liked the film 'Sky High' (2005), you'll enjoy this book too. The plot, adventures, relationships and general feel of the book is geared toward the young teen market. I loved 'Sky High' and I loved this book too! Every character seemed so completely fleshed out and distinct, I felt that I knew each of them personally and there are quite a few of them. The good guys were all very likable. The bad guys didn't invoke hatred but helped pace the story very well. Simply a fun, light-hearted read that does a great job sparking the imagination. If I have one criticism, it involves the introduction of the core characters (Jack, Bella, Ty, Ethan and Caleb). Their very first adventure seemed geared toward the pre-teen market... After that, however, the story picks up again (Rust Swift's intro, which started the book, was quite good). I'm hopeful that the journey continues...

This is one talented writer and one well-written book. Had a really hard time putting this book down - it cost me a good night's sleep! Well thought out, including how teleportation is resolved here - which, in itself, opens so many possibilities... There are some harsh moments in this book and mirrors possible real-world consequences of working with technology, power and decisions that are way over your head.
