Peter D. Miller grew up in Indiana from a working-class family. After getting his bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, he moved to Indianapolis to study law. He worked a variety of jobs while putting himself through law school at night.
After working as everything from construction worker to salesman to loan officer, he reached his goal and became a lawyer. He served as in-house counsel for a small bank before opening a private practice. Later he became the vice president and general counsel of a small company in Indianapolis.
Writing has been a constant pastime for many years. It was a private passion, until recent events persuaded him to publish some of his work.
His experiences growing up in the Midwest in the turbulent sixties helped shape his beliefs. Many of these are reflected in the Beta Creed, which appears in most of his books.

Smashwords Interview

What are you working on next?
I just published the first of my science-fiction series, "Second Summers." I am now editing the next book in the 'Differential' series. I hope to have it out by late September.
In your bio, it's mentioned that recent events motivated you to publish some of your work. Can you elaborate?
Many of us who grew up in the 60's are seeing some familiar themes. Issues we thought were resolved seem to be coming back around, for another pass.
In "Differential," I briefly mention how religion was misused 50 years ago, to justify denying people the right to marry whom they chose. Now we see it being misused again, for another group of people.
The Voting Rights Act has been gutted. Women are still not treated equally in the workplace, and they are still subject to a double-standard with regard to sex. Their right to control their own bodies is again under attack.
Religious instruction/indoctrination is trying to creep back into public schools.
