How do you approach cover design?
Finding oneself, or one's place in this world, takes a search. Sometimes, we just find ourselves staring off into the distance, such as the ocean's horizon, which can provide us with our needed answers. The cover is a clue to the story line.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I enjoy many types of books. My favorite books will create great visuals for me, but most importantly, I like to be surprised. If I start figuring out where a story is headed, I tend to find myself get bored. I love non-fiction as well as fiction. Ann Rice, for example, is one of my favorites, making the unusual appear common place. I also enjoy her subliminal theme of love and sensuality in scenes that would normally not evoke such emotions.
