During my working life I studied psychology part-time and served as the part-time counselor for Life Line a crisis telephone helpline. When I retired I began research study in philosophy with an emphasis on reason and logic. I also wrote a number of books. I was published in magazines and various other publications. When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
By nature I am a dreamer From childhood I loved making up stories in my mind. When active, I like reading fiction. I spend a great deal of my time studying so reading for relaxation is important to me.
What made you write a book about Intelligent creation and the meaning of life?
From childhood I have had a natural tendency towards reasoned logic and the religious answer to creation does not satisfy my understanding of logic. To me, there had to be a logical answer which led me to do research in various religions and in particular the Christian religion which dominates western society. The story of Creation and the Universe arose from the fictional and illogical assumptions made in the Bible. There is a better way of investigating creation by following the path of science and with logic I extracted origin cause of creation and went from there. As for the meaning of life, the word meaning is a concept of the mind, not a physical matter, therefore the meaning of life has to do with values to strive for and the only value worth striving for that cuts across all areas of life is love. Therefore if love is the answer it is a powerful incentive to believe in as an after life goal devoid of the fictional Hell fire and condemnation of religion. True love is unconditional love and that is the only love that can survive. Religious love from a fictional god is conditional on living perfect lives. Unconditional love means exactly what it says, it has no condition of perfection as a prerequisite to enter an eternal life of love.
Boy meets girl in the late 1960’s early 1970’s. Their relationship is threatened by the deep indoctrination of religious beliefs that form the core values by which they live. Anxiety and grief become the norm as they try to comply with the law of God and repress their desires for one another. Elsewhere tragedy strikes and lives are lost. What happens if they continue to follow the law of God?
Exploring Intelligent Creation and the Meaning of Life follows the path of reasoned logic. The dialogue is based on verifiable facts of the origin of life by looking at the development of the universe and the social and mental evolution of the species. Because reason is a mental process the purpose of creation must be based on the mental attributes of life.
