I am a law school graduate, who began organizing my last year in school, pushing for the DREAM Act in Washington, D.C. For the past year and a half, I've been traveling across the country with my classmate Cesar Vargas and Erika Andiola, writing along the way.
With my organizer friends, I've crashed on couches and used Starbucks as our office more often than not while on the road, operating on a shoestring budget, working late into the night and waking up early to start the next 12 hours of driving.
I've been teargassed with Occupy Oakland, detained by the Secret Service at a Romney rally in Texas, heard stories of teenagers crossing the desert alone and managed to get it all down on paper in stories about immigration, law and politics, as well as in photos.
