I can't believe that book 1 had to end too soon. I need another 100 pages. Why did it have to stop on a cliffhanger? I like it so far but I keep on forgetting that the author never lets her book pages go farer than 125 pages. :( Here my thoughts on this book: Ok the title itself says "Bloodline" & given the fact that the has a supernatural feel to it. Don't be surprised that there are some dark traditions within the family line. The family clan Cainvarna are a lot like the Egyptian; they tend to marry one another. But the difference is how the Cainvarna males propose to their expected wives is not very sweet or charming. To describe this marriage ritual is like a hunting party, males gather their women in a cage and pick their liking. Women's roles in this clan can be divided in 3 objectives; 1. Personal punching bag (Weakling), 2. sex slave, and 3. Wife (a better off role for a Cainvarna female). Woman must harden their hearts towards their daughters because of the rise of the 213th full moon to mark the beginning of the mating hunt. Males on the hunt for a female in the most brutal way. Women who are coming of age are not allow to know their cruel fate before its too late. I like that Catalia that has a backbone, that she doesn't submit so easily to her husband. Julius is so hot. Wow, from how the author describe him, tall, dark, & dangerous! Lastly, even though the author doesn't downplay the ritual as an act of *ape, I would rather it be described as mating because when it comes from a supernatural view this brutal act is somewhat normal but not fair to the young women that are caught off guard & finally understand their mothers' omission. but from a human viewpoint is *ape or kinky preference. Overall, I'm hooked. I have to read the next 3 books!

The author continues the story at exactly where she left off in the first volume. So in volume 2, it explores more of Cataila's desires and how her husband can accommodate to those new needs. The reader will be introduced to new characters and will reveal who killed her sister. Speaking of new characters, Gallan is a name you should keep in mind when reading the next 2 volumes. As you're reading about Cataila's experience with this old family tradition, don't you wonder if she is ever going to grow a backbone and speak out? Well she does, but it causes a public & intimate introduction from Gallan. Gallan is a man of high rank like a general, so man of power must teach this clueless woman a lesson. I for one, didnt like what happened next, public mating and people just watched. So where was Julius? Um he was standing there while another man takes advantage of his wife. But why cant Julius speak against Gallan? Something is off here and I think Julius is hiding something. Wow, but after that he tells her "I love you" and she thinks he is disgusted by her. Sex & power was pretty much the focus of volume 2. This book left me wondering if these characters have any common sense to break this family tradition? It is getting more insane and not to mention these character seem to just let lust run their lives.

I am starting to think that Ms. Stella is the Queen of Cliffhangers. Ok, now the author introduces more info about the Cainvara family. So the family has ranks of power and in this case the reader is introduce to the king or Cadipylth. So what is Julius hiding? Maybe the fact that he was sent to look for a new queen or Orynth. I dont know if the king was too lazy to look for a new queen or that it was easier to just take Julius' wife as his own. Yep, guess who the queen, Catalia. So Julius' rank is convicus or a secret agent for the king. I totally lost respect for Julius. I mean he didnt even fight for his wife and she felt betrayed. But then again, I lost respect for all of the characters. Sure Catalia felt betrayed, but she isnt little miss innocent anymore. Lust was her biggest temptation and she failed to resist it. She met with another brother and he pleasured her. So there is enough backstabbing to go around. So now reader can see how the characters can use their flower characteristic powers with a lustful experience, is actually quite beautiful. But I was hoping for more than lust, maybe something more than falling into temptation. I wanted Catalia to be stronger but all i saw was her just giving in. Like always the author left on a cliffhanger. She left with the most erotic scene yet, and I couldnt understand it. Is that what Catalia was meant to do? Just lie on her back and Orynth is just a title that doesnt bring anything but to look pretty and make babies. I get it, it's a erotic tale but feel like there is something missing. There should be more to the characters than lust.

Catalia’s story is a sad tale, an erotic one but a sad tale indeed. In fourth and last volume of this series, Catalia realizes that her life has become insignificant so she decides to end it. I was disappointed in Catalia. She became this shell of a person who only craves to be pleasured by anybody. So Gallan tried to kill her but he couldn't help himself when she ask him to relieve her lustful ache. So Cadipylth kill him and it was nice change of pace in the story but it went back to the same old lustful desires. I was wondering when is she ever going to leave that bed. So nothing has changed and the king gets his heir. Yep, Catalia is a mother and she left her child to deal with an ugly cycle of family expectations, more importantly a role of a Cainvara woman if her young flower is female. There are so many holes in the Cainvara family traditions that drove this poor woman to her demise. It was just pain sad, no one could help her and the men in her life speak of love but their actions means domination. I was surprised on how the author wrote Catalia’s ending. Her life was slipping away and her husband the “Cadipylth” was pleasuring her but didn't notice that his Orynth wasn't going to see their child grow up. I was more disappointed that all through the four volumes that Catalia lost her drive to live after her sister died. After that point, I felt that somehow the story of Catalia got lost on the bedroom scenes. Where was her fight to not be a slave? She gave up in the second volume. Unbelievable, then this is her last form of rebellion is dying? How is that better than accepting the fate? What happen to changing the fate? None of the characters did anything to change their current situation. Overall, White Bloodline was salacious and dark. I wanted to like the story but I felt through the whole story that it was missing something. I was disappointed in the character development and I wished that the story was more than just bedroom scenes. I love the cover and the twist with flower characteristics. I adore the author but was I kind of glad that this series ended.
