Being called a “free spirit” can be a responsibility! It’s just been life for me. As a jill-of-all single mother, I did whatever was needed and worked some wacky jobs. But I was privileged to work with a legendary jazz promoter producing concerts and festivals. When my son went off to college, I sailed off on boats, working as professional crew on private yachts in the Caribbean. Turning happily to writing I find my sailing days and other travels offer a mine of experiences and fabulous characters, thus parts of my books are often based on true events and real people (hmmm). Recently I retired from producing performance festivals in the historic working seaport of Gloucester, Massachusetts, where I now live.
Noir - dark, mysterious. The Caribbean - a perfect paradise that hides sordid secrets. I’ve combined the two to deliver enigmatic Phillip Blackwell to you. An exile, he finds corruption, conundrums and evil as he makes sails down the Antilles chain. A decent man recruited by those less so to solve what they can not. In the Big Deep, Blackwell is recruited to find a missing person and finds murder.
