The author
Planting trees and running an orchard in the Far North has always been a panacea for Richard Ward's former life as a university academic. Upon recently retiring from Chair of the Literacy Department, University of Waikato, orcharding and writing have dominated his life, along with frequent fishing trips in the Bay of Islands. He lives in Kerikeri with his wife Barbara.
