Rabbi, Teacher, Father, Husband, Lecturer, Author and more.
Born in the USA, Moved to Israel in my teens. I have been involved in Torah learning and teaching for over 20 years.
I have Semicha as a Rabbi from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, I am a Sofer Stam (a Hebrew Scribe) and a Mohel (practitioner of Jewish circumcision). In addition I have degrees in Education (B.Ed) and Hebrew Letters (M.A.).
I teach Torah (Bible and Talmud) to diverse levels of understanding. I also lecture publicly on the topics of Torah, Science and Emmuna and more.
I live in Israel where I am, with G-d's help, raising my children. I teach in Yeshiva Ohr David in Jerusalem and lecture under the auspices of Nefesh Yehudi.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I have found that the more I work on my emmuna - the more I want to do more with my life every day. It's that clear. When you know that there is meaning and purpose to my existence it drives you to work harder and to try and achieve more with each day. I'm still a work in progress, though. But I go to sleep each night knowing that I want to wake up as soon as possible to do even more with today.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I teach most days in Yeshiva Ohr David, in Jerusalem. On most days I am there all day long. I also am a Sofer Stam, a Jewish Torah Scribe, so I spend time writing tefillin and mezuzot as well to supplement my income. I am a father of many children (It's a problem of the evil-eye to say how many), so I spend time with my children and my wife, Julie, as often as possible. In addition I spend as much time as I can learning Torah as well. As I said before - I'm still a work in progress.
The purpose for the Core Emmuna series is to give the reader a guided tour through the world and beyond, to get the correct, Torah-based, perspective on how to view life, the universe, and everything.
Seeing as emmuna, (Hebrew for "Trust and Faith") is the foundation of our entire experience in this world and beyond, I decided to summarize my life's-work, and to organize it into a clear, coherent, and logical argument so as to properly build the core and foundations upon which life is meant to be lived.
Come with me on a journey through the creation, the sciences, and the world's and Jewish history as seen from a Torah perspective in order to not just give an answer, but to come to a clear conclusion that fortifies your emmuna in all of life's real major questions.
This book explores the creation, the awe and wonder of it all. It lays bare the scientific wonders of the world and the immensity, and depths of wisdom in the creation. It also lays bare the almost total lack of understanding of the sciences as to how it could have happened... without the hand of The Mighty Creator. In this, it begins our journey to real emmuna. Core Emmuna.
