I simply do not understand all the positive reviews of this book unless the author is padding his own review count. This book is wrought with glaring typos and horrible grammar, but more than that, this book is just poorly written. I don't think a proof reader would help much. Vapid characters and a cliche sci-fi "story". Too much telling and no showing... I just don't get it. And Valerian swords? Is that a nod to Game of Thrones or robbery? I don't know, but its not the only familiar reference in the book. I can't recommend this to any serious reader.
Great fantasy story with fun characters and an interesting plot line that seemed fresh, rather than overused. It was a nice read. I would definitely recommend this book to any book lover, not just fantasy nerds like me.
