R.K Coventon

I suppose I am the typical, atypical broke Australian university student. While I study IT in the day time, by night am a terrifying bat-themed vigilantie protecting the people of Gotham! Wait that's not right.... Anyway that's besides the point, I guess since you are reading my bio I suppose you want to know the details. Well, I enjoy writing stories, particularly fantasy, ranging to all sorts of made up worlds and themes from all sorts of audiences.

I don't like limiting myself and I enjoy that every story has a reason to belong, the dark and somber ones belong to give insight and time to appreciate what we have in the world while the light, triumphant ones can shred lightness into the sometimes depressing reality.

So I dabble in all sorts of themes, such as literal fantasy, high and modern fantasy's, sometimes romance and even at times I have been known to write an erotica or two. If you have any inquires, questions or even want to commission me for something (I don't know what though) go ahead and contact me via twitter or Facebook, I generally don't bite, even on my worst days!

Smashwords Interview

What is your writing process?
Hahaha! the question implies I have a process, I'll try my best to explain what drives me to write.

Well I was going through a particularly nasty bout of PTSD depression, when all which felt all encompassing and suffocating. I have had been fighting with this ever since I was a child, and when nothing else seemed to work and when my thoughts came to suicide the one of the few things that stopped me was that I still felt as though I had a story to tell, and if I were to do anything like that I would be dishonoring myself in that sense. So I decided to sit down at the computer and write the stories down. The funny thing is, the more I wrote, the less broken I felt inside, and then I didn't end up stopping, writing along with my loved ones really helped me.

Then NaNoWriteMo came across, and I wrote 50,000 words in a month! and since then I have gotten myself into a routine of writing how many words I do a day, my general goal is to do 5,000 + words a week.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I ever wrote, wow does that bring me back! I began writing stories back in 2006, and it involved a wolf, a tamed fox and a massive serpent! It had plot holes, massive, gaping plot holes I am sure one could easily drive a minivan into!

The first story I actually completed is "A Clockwork lullaby" I wrote it when I was 14! It is available in my Smashwords store for free. While it is far from flawless, this little story will always have a place in my heart.
