I received this book at a R2R so thank you A.C. I really enjoyed this book, it was a paranormal romance that did not involve saving the world or any world changing events, but it was a sexy, hot romance with a paranormal twist. I loved Lexi and how she pushed Duncan on a regular basis. She was so outspoken and blunt it was hilarious. We find out during the book that she was not always that way and only with the help of her two best friends and many outfits was she able to come out of her shell. Duncan is uptight except with Lexi and he isn't comfortable with his wild side. It seems that a lot of romance books use a love triangle (which I hate). This one did not the main characters were enough problems unto themselves. Lexi is just now finding out that she is a siren and what that means and I liked the siren explanations and implications. Duncan is a wolf but he is not bonded with his wolf and is fighting to keep control all the time. His internal struggles made him a more likable character. The relationship questions that arise from these two can be applied to every day people because the paranormal problems that they are dealing with are more like personality traits. I liked all the side characters and enjoyed the fact that one of the roommates found a mate before Lexi..just because his chosen mate wasn't as stubborn as Duncan. Thank you again A.C. for a hot sexy enjoyable read that went way to fast! This tasty treat made me want to go and read more from A.C.
  • Faelorehn - Book One of the Otherworld Trilogy on Oct. 16, 2012

I received this book as a R2R so I thank the author for the opportunity to read her work. I liked Meghan, the main character, who after being found in a bad part of town at 2 years old has been raised in a good foster family for the last 15 years. I felt Meghan's character was realistic and easy to like. She has embarrassed herself over the years with reports of hearing voices and seeing things plus her eyes constantly change colors. Her foster family has taken her to psychologists and therapy to deal with her nightmares and her tales. She has a core group of friends even through she is an outcast at school and her foster family cares about her. I think there will be more with Aiden in the next book and that he will play an important part in her development. Cade shows up and he tries to explain to Meghan that she is different because she is from the otherworld like him. I would have liked to see more romance in the book and hope that there will be more in the next one or at least more interaction between Meghan and Cade so she could develop more. This is the first time in her life that all the weird stuff is understood by someone. I totally understand her falling for him but would have like to see more of his reactions to her. Like Meghan, we are only finding out a little at time since we only see from Meghan's point of view. People from the otherworld are trying to kill Meghan, who knows nothing of their world or why, so we need to know why. I really liked the Celtic twist to this book and am interested to read the next ones to find out more. Like what is going on with people trying to kill Meghan. I hope for more romance, more development of Meghan and her cohorts or family members and more Cade. I found the pacing a little slow, but I hope that is just the scene setting for the next couple of books.
