Smashwords Interview

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Writing, blogging, researching. I spend 15 hours a day at my computer looking for ideas and subjects of interest. I have a facebook page for authors and publishers. My other activities are minimal. I have a small workshop that I sometimes spend time in fixing things or thinking about things to do, but that is a small part of my time. Usually an afternoon or two per week. When I first got into computers in the early 1980's I would spend long hours studying how to write programs in Basic. I've owned computers for many years. Actually I have lost count on how many I have owned. I started with MacIntosh and in the late 1990's I switched to PC's. I have gone through many of them since then.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. When I was in grammar school I became fascinated with pirates and treasure. I believe that was brought about by my having read "Treasure Island" in third grade. I tried my hand at writing about pirates for a while. I don't know what ever happened to those writings because that was a long time ago, the 1940's, and my mom probably couldn't keep everything I wrote so it was probably disposed of.
