Russell Poole

Biography

As an L.A.P.D. Robbery/Homicide detective, Poole was a lead investigator in the Lyga-Gaines shooting, Enis Cosby murder investigation, and the Biggie Smalls murder case. He was later assigned to the Rampart Investigative Task Force. In 1999, Poole left the L.A.P.D. after 19.5 years on the force. He sued the City and publicly brought the Rampart Scandal to the attention of the world. Two cases stuck in Russell's craw as unsolved murders he felt could have been solved. He continued to work on the Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls murder cases until his last breath. What he uncovered would cost him his life. American News Service calls him an American Hero. He is not just a hero for America but for all of the world.
