Starts well - interesting concept for basis. Reasonably well written but too earnest and caught up in doctrine to graduate into a genuinely good piece of prose. But, I imagine the aim of the author was principally to glorify God. Still... Not worth reading unless you're already VERY interested in Scripture.

Really interesting read. A bit complex at first but it doesn't take long to get your head around it and engage. Comley is one of the best characters I have encountered. The author works a bit like a jazz musician when it comes to him - you listen for the notes NOT being played as well. You find yourself wanting to know his secrets. Highlight - the threads running off the main story. Seemingly minor characters give insights into rich stories. EG (no spoiler) - the story of Evo... WOW. I'd read a novel just about him. This isn't a perfect book... But it's a damn good book. Somewhat rough at times and maybe could do with a little bit of editing, but if it's a first novel it's a sign of big things to come. Enjoyed it - it made me think.
