Biography

I am an accidental author of the Itchybald Scratchet series of books about a badger and his adventures. The series of books came from a conversation with my sister, who had badgers digging up her back garden and asked me if I knew how to discourage them from digging!! I did some research on badgers and became hooked!

There are 6 books so far with more to follow. “I have enjoyed the reactions to the books from children and adults alike. For me it’s about encouraging children to read and enjoy our wildlife”.

Itchy’s adventures introduces a wide range of wildlife from around the world so that children can learn about the animals, geography and current day issues.

How did the story start

Where did the character name come from?
The name Itchybald Scratchet was a surprise, it suddenly came to me when I was putting a plate in the dishwasher! I think it was sent to me to make people smile, it’s certainly memorable!
